You must be a FGMS member or a member of another CFMS affiliated club and have paid your dues for 2023 to participate in club field trips. A FGMS liability waiver must be signed prior to the trip. This trip is a fee dig trip to the famous Red Cloud (https://www.mindat.org/loc-3348.html) and South Geronimo (Melissa) Mines. We are proposing to travel on Friday December 8 and collect Saturday December 9 and Sunday December 10. You will be responsible for paying the fee(s) at the mine. The fee is $35 per person per day at the Red Cloud Mine which give access to the dumps and open pit. There is a substantial addition fee to collect on the upper bench of the open pit. The fee for the South Geronimo Mine is $60 per person per day. If we have at least 20 participants, there is a discount available. The road into the Red Cloud Mine is rough and sandy in places - high clearance and four wheel drive vehicles are strongly recommended. The road is not passable for RV's. Dry camping is available at the mine site. Other options are available at Martinez Lake or in Yuma. More information will follow.
